In this way, we ensure that it remains exactly as it was when it was on your wrist or that of your loved one.
You may be wondering this. The answer is yes. A mechanical watch has many moving parts, lubricated with grease or oil. These parts will wear out over time, and the oil will age. When the oil and the grit from the wear mix, a kind of grinding paste is created. When the parts rotate with such a grinding paste, the watch and the parts will wear out much faster, resulting in high repair costs. It is therefore advisable not to wait too long before having it serviced. It is recommended for a mechanical watch every 4-6 years. The costs for a service can be found in the overview of our prices.
Something that often happens with watches is that the dial of the watch becomes crooked in the event of a hard fall or impact. The dial of a watch is screwed into the movement with 2 small legs. In the event of a hard fall or impact, the weight of the dial ends up on those 2 legs. This causes the legs to become crooked or, in the worst case, they break off.
With most watch brands
the dial will be replaced immediately, resulting in high repair costs.
At the HorlogeSmit we solder a new leg onto the dial, and we look
directly to the condition of the other dial leg. If necessary, we will
which also reinforce. In this way the dial is not too much
costs as good as new. The costs for soldering dial legs can be found
in the overview of our prices.
We are happy to make time for your watch!
